The Information and Decision Support Center, in a report issued by it, highlighted Egypt’s ongoing efforts to support people with disabilities in recent years, explaining that the year 2016 witnessed the launch of the presidential initiative “Integration.. Empowerment.. Participation” to support and empower people with disabilities.
The center explained the details of supporting people with disabilities, and what has been achieved over the past years, as follows.

2018: 2018 declared the Year of People with Disabilities.
2019: Establishment of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities.
2019: Issuance of the Integrated Services Card.
2020: Establishment of the “ Able Differently ” Fund to support people with disabilities.
The role of ministries in supporting people with disabilities
The center explained that the ministries are taking many steps to serve and protect : people with disabilities , as follows:

Implement comprehensive education for them and provide educational opportunities through various technologies.
Allocating a share for them in scientific and educational missions, and including disability sciences as one of the scientific specializations in universities.
Guaranteeing their right to equal employment opportunities without discrimination by 5%.
The Ministry of Transport has offered discounts on public and private transportation.
