The Center for People of Determination at Assiut University has launched a specialized training program in digital transformation, tailored for students with visual impairments.

This program is held under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Manshawy, President of the University, with direct supervision by Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Omnia Abdel Kader, Director of the Center, and Dr. Gamal El-Sawy, Administrative Director.

A distinctive feature of this initiative is the selection of the trainer, Hadir Mahmoud, a visually and physically impaired individual herself, who serves as an inspiring role model for the trainees. Hadir holds certifications from esteemed international organizations such as Helm, AMIDEAST, and UNICEF and possesses extensive experience in training visually impaired individuals on assistive and modern technologies.

Dr. Manshawy stated that this initiative reflects the university’s commitment to providing equal opportunities for all its students. He emphasized that the university prioritizes integrating students of determination into the university community and preparing them for active participation in various fields.

He added that this step aligns with Egypt’s comprehensive digital transformation strategy, which places special emphasis on people of determination.

Dr. Omnia Abdel Kader explained that the training program targets 25 students and spans three months, offering sufficient time to acquire essential digital skills.

The program focuses on teaching participants how to use computers and assistive technologies specifically designed for individuals with visual impairments, enabling them to effectively engage in both educational and professional environments.

This initiative is part of a broader plan adopted by Assiut University to provide exceptional educational services and diverse student activities for students of determination. Through such programs, the university aims to empower these students to keep pace with technological advancements and actively contribute to building Egypt’s digital future.
